As one of the last and most popular zones added to the park, Jhirna is situated at the southern edge of Corbett Tiger Reserve, around 16 km from Ramnagar city. It’s easily accessible through the Dhela Gate, and offers a thrilling safari experience, with a wide variety of wildlife and bird species.

Best Time to Visit Jhirna Zone
The best time to visit Jhirna Zone is from October to June, when the weather is ideal for safaris and wildlife viewing. During this period, visitors can enjoy an abundance of wild animals and diverse flora. Jhirna is particularly favored by birdwatchers for its wide variety of elusive and rare bird species.

Jhirna Zone Jeep Safari Experience
At Jhirna, jeep safaris are organized throughout the year, providing tourists with the chance to witness the incredible wildlife of Corbett National Park. The Jeep Safari operates in two shifts daily, with only 30 jeeps allowed per shift, ensuring an exclusive and exciting experience. Each jeep can accommodate 6 adults and 2 children under the age of 1 year.
To ensure a smooth and seamless experience, safari permits must be obtained through the official website of Corbett National Park (www.corbettonline.uk.gov.in). Please note that during the monsoon season (July to September), permits are issued on a current basis, and advance bookings are not allowed.

  • Ensure you have the entry pass obtained during the online booking process for your safari.
  • The entry permit is provisional and may be canceled without prior notice.
  • The Director of Corbett Tiger Reserve holds supreme authority, and his decisions are final.
  • Entry permits are strictly non-transferable.
  • Only official registered guides are allowed to accompany tourists, and swapping guides is prohibited.
  • Entry after sunset is strictly prohibited.
  • Saturdays and Sundays may have higher safari prices due to increased demand.
  • Dhikala Tourist Zone is not accessible to visitors who have not stayed at the Dhikala Forest Lodge.
  • For safety, getting down from the vehicle during the safari is not allowed.
  • Pets are not allowed inside Corbett National Park, so please avoid bringing them along.

    Corbett National Park is easily accessible from Ramnagar, the park’s headquarters. Ramnagar is well-connected by both road and rail to major cities in India.

    • By Road: Ramnagar is approximately 260 km from Delhi. The Uttarakhand state government operates regular buses from Delhi, Moradabad, Haldwani, and Nainital to Corbett National Park.
    • By Rail: The Ramnagar railway station is connected to major cities, including Delhi, Moradabad, and Bareilly. Trains like Ranikhet Express, Corbett Link Express, and Kathgodam Express run directly to Ramnagar.

    • Delhi: 260 km (Delhi → Moradabad → Kashipur → Ramnagar)
    • Nainital: 62 km (Via Kaladhungi → Ramnagar)
