Phanto Jeep Safari Zone - Jim Corbett National Park
The Phanto Zone in Jim Corbett National Park was officially inaugurated on January 2, 2022, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami. Located in the Terai West Forest in the northern region of the park, and adjoining the Amangarh Tiger Reserve to the west, this zone has become a key attraction for wildlife enthusiasts. As the seventh safari zone of Jim Corbett, the Phanto Zone was established to manage the growing influx of tourists, expanding from the six previously existing zones.
Covering an area of 2516.70 hectares, the Phanto Zone offers rich biodiversity, featuring species like the Royal Bengal Tiger, various deer species, and elephants. The zone’s natural water reservoirs provide a perfect habitat for wildlife, attracting tigers and many other animals. The presence of abundant wildlife and bird species makes this zone a fantastic destination for nature lovers.
Being one of the densest forests in Jim Corbett National Park and Uttarakhand, the Phanto Zone offers an immersive experience for visitors through thrilling jeep safaris. With its lush landscapes and diverse wildlife, a jeep safari in this area guarantees a rewarding adventure.
The Phanto Zone Gate is just 18 km from Ramnagar, making it easily accessible for tourists. Along the way, visitors can also enjoy the picturesque Tumdiya Dam and anticipate future boating facilities.
